Through the efforts of Mayor Albee Benitez, the City of Bacolod, together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), conducted an Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Financial Assistance payout Wednesday at the Gonzaga Gym, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, a press release from Bacolod PIO said.
The activity was led by Benitez, Special Assistant to the Mayor Engr. Mae Cuaycong, Councilors Thaddy Sayson, Em Ang, Al Espino, Vladi Gonzalez, and Kalaw Puentevella, together with Homer Bais, Bobby Rojas, and Manapla Vice Mayor Edgar Pagayonan.
A number of 500 beneficiaries received amounts ranging from Php 3,000 to 10,000, depending on the type of assistance that covered medical and burial aid.
During the event, Benitez expressed his intention to make changes in the payout system which will prioritize the convenience of the beneficiaries through the GCash app or tap card. He also added that the Bayad Agad program will also utilize the use of cards.*
