Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez expressed his gratitude and admiration to Pacifico Maghari III, who resigned from his role as City Administrator of Bacolod City after over a year of service.
Benitez said he will be announcing the next City Administrator of his choice on November 15, after making sure that it is not illegal to appoint, based on the banning period of the Commission on Elections.
The mayor said he respects the decision of Maghari, who tendered his irrevocable resignation as City Administrator after the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections, which had been under consideration for the past two months.
In light of family-related concerns, Benitez offered his whole-hearted support to the decision of Maghari.
Benitez also revealed that a meticulous consideration process is underway, with a shortlist of candidates being thoroughly evaluated, saying “This is a very important position because this is really an alter ego of the mayor.”
Benitez said he must have complete trust and confidence of the mayor, and must be somebody who can work with day and night.
They will also announce the new head of the Public Employment Service Office on November 15, he said.*
