Representative Alfredo Abelardo Benitez has extended P1 million cash assistance to 200 families recently affected by the fire incident in Barangay 39, Bacolod City, taken from his personal funds.
In a strong show of immediate support to families affected by the recent fire, Benitez personally distributed P5,000 in cash assistance to each of the affected families temporarily sheltered at the Barangay 39 Gymnasium.
The assistance was given directly to the heads of the affected families to help them address their urgent needs as they begin to recover from the tragedy.
Benitez also held a dialogue with the fire victims to listen to their concerns and discuss possible long-term solutions to their current situation. He was accompanied by Punong Barangay Dante Danoy.
Benitez also said that he will personally reach out to the Lizares family, the owner of the property where the fire occurred, to explore the possibility of allowing the affected families to acquire the land at an affordable price, giving them an opportunity to rebuild their homes and secure permanent housing.
In addition to the personal assistance already given, Benitez will also provide separate financial assistance to the fire victims in the coming days.
The Bacolod solon also assured the affected families that his office will continue working with concerned stakeholders to support their recovery and help them rebuild their lives after the devastating fire.*
