Seven of the 31 local government units in Negros Occidental have been placed under COVID-19 Alert Level 1 which took effect from May 1 until May 15.

This was after Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson issued an executive order placing cities of Sagay, Victorias and La Carlota, as well as municipalities of EB Magalona, Pulupandan, San Enrique and Candoni under Alert Level 1 status and extending the Alert Level 2 status of Negros Occidental.

Bacolod City also remains under Alert Level 1.

The executive order also states that there will be five flights per day for Philippine Air Lines, six flights per day for Cebu Pacific and three flights per day for Air Asia, for the Manila-Bacolod-Manila route.

For Cebu-Bacolod-Cebu flights, Philippine Air Lines has been allowed four flights per week and seven flights for Cebu Pacific, while sea vessels are allowed to admit 50 percent of their passenger capacity.

As of May 1, Negros Occidental has 10 active cases, with two new cases reported and three recoveries.*
