Negros Occidental has 3,020 active cases as of February 8, with 103 new cases reported yesterday.

The Provincial Incident Management Team reported it has recorded 3,020 active cases yesterday in Negros Occidental

Lacson said he is hoping that COVID-19 cases will go down soon, as what has been happening in other areas of the country.

The provincial government of Negros Occidental is bracing for the next round of national vaccination on Feb. 10 and 11.

Lacson said he already ordered Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz to maintain the record of the province as a top performer in the vaccination activities in Western Visayas.

According to the Provincial Health Office, the vaccination rate of the province is now at 60 percent of the 1.8 million Negrenses targeted for inoculation to reach herd immunity against COVID-19.

Lacson called anew for the full cooperation of local chief executives in nationwide simultaneous vaccination activities.*
