A 40-year-old man was killed while a village official was wounded in a shooting incident while drinking along Lopez Jaena Street in Barangay 2, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday.
Reports said the gunman targeted Henjie Cuadra, alleged leader of the RGS Global Marketing investment scam, delivering a fatal shot to the head, while a companion, identified only by the alias Novel, serves as a Barangay Kagawad in the same village.
According to Hinigaran Municipal Police Station, Cuadra has a prior criminal record for syndicated estafa related to his involvement in the large-scale investment scheme.
Investigators recovered two 9mm shell casings and a deformed bullet at the scene, noting that the primary motive likely stems from the victim’s controversial legal history.
Police are currently conducting a hot pursuit operation and a follow-up investigation to identify and apprehend the fleeing suspect.*
