The Almana Cares Foundation (ACF), in partnership with Almanian employees celebrating their birthdays from April to July, held a “Birthday for a Cause” outreach activity at St. Vincent’s Home for the Aged in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City.
A total of 18 volunteers from the Almana Group of Companies, including the birthday celebrants, participated in the activity spending it with 25 elderly residents of the facility through simple celebrations and shared interactions.
A ceremonial blowing of candles was held as part of the celebration, joined by Lolo Seb, one of the elderly residents who was also celebrating his birthday. The shared moment added a heartfelt and personal touch to the event, bridging generations through a common celebration.
One of the most emotional parts of the visit came when the elderly residents performed a group “thank you” song for the volunteers. The gesture moved several participants to tears, highlighting the deep sense of gratitude and connection felt during the activity.
Following the performance, Sister Tita of St. Vincent’s Home, expressed her sincere appreciation to the group for their time, generosity, and for choosing to celebrate their birthdays with the elderly.
Donations turned over during the visit included cans of paint, light bulbs, sacks of rice, trays of eggs, Pau D’Arco wellness products, hygiene kits, and snacks.
The initiative is part of ACF’s ongoing outreach programs aimed at supporting care institutions and promoting employee engagement through community service.*
