Authorities seized nearly P1 million worth of suspected shabu and apprehended six drug personalities in a buy-bust operation at Hacienda Bato, Barangay Nanca, EB Magalona, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday afternoon.
The arrested individuals were identified only by their aliases: ‘Runi,’ 43; ‘Jino,’ 25; ‘July,’ 33; ‘Will,’ 36; ‘JP,’ 22; and a minor named ‘PJ’ from Barangay Lopez Jaena in Silay City.
One suspect, alias ‘Mike,’ remains at large after escaping the scene during the police operation.
Recovered from their possession were 15 heat-sealed transparent plastic bags and 2 knot-tied plastics containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 140 grams with a standard drug value of P952,000.
Authorities also recovered two motorcycles believed to be used for illegal drug transactions.
The arrested suspects were informed of the nature of their offense, their constitutional rights, and the Anti-Torture Act in a dialect they understand. They were subsequently brought to the Municipal Health Office for a medical check-up.
The suspects are now in the custody of the EB Magalona Municipal Police Station for proper disposition and will face criminal charges in violation of RA 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
