• THERESA MAE DULMAN

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) successfully apprehended two drug suspects and confiscated approximately P1,564,000 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation late Friday evening.

The operation, carried out by the City Drug Enforcement Unit, took place around 11:34 p.m. on October 17, at Purok Magtiayon, Barangay 10, Bacolod City.

Operatives arrested two individuals identified as alias ‘Gresil,’ a 44-year-old male resident of the same barangay and alias ‘Bonie,’ a 43-year-old male resident of Bago City.

Authorities seized 16 sachets of suspected shabu weighing at more or less 230 grams.

The arrested suspects are now detained at the BCPO facility and are set to face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The BCPO stated that the successful operation highlights its continued efforts to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs and ensure a safer, drug-free community in Bacolod City.*
