Bacolod visual artist Rose Jemino Emelia opened her first solo art exhibition at Artillery Philippines – Bacolod, at 226 Makiling Street, Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City on August 22, which will run until August 31.
Titled “Canvas of Her Heart,” the show is a thoughtfully curated solo exhibition reflecting a personal investigation into the experience of womanhood, encompassing themes of love, beauty, and the realities of life. The artist invites viewers into a nuanced and intimate narrative shaped by both vulnerability and resilience, longing and fulfillment and the interplay between scars and radiance.
Each piece in the exhibit serves as a reflection of the artist’s emotional and spiritual state, offering a visual diary that bridges personal and universal themes. Employing mixed media, surrealist influences, and layered textures, “Canvas of Her Heart” offers a multifaceted celebration of womanhood.

The exhibition stands not only as an artistic display but as an unfiltered and courageous journey through the complexities of the heart, the artist’s statement said.
Guests of honor at the opening Friday were Mai Mai Villarosa Montelibano, Art Association of Bacolod (AABN) treasurer Patty Jane Ong, and Group of Negrense Artists Inc. (GONA) president GilJohn Quiamco.*
