The Bacolod City Legal Office (CLO) has granted a 10-day extension to Asenso Market vendors in Barangay Alijis, moving the final deadline for the voluntary removal of structures to March 20.
The decision was made on humanitarian grounds, after vendors appealed for more time to process special permits, according to CLO spokesperson Atty. Vanessa Encabo.
A final notice was served to the market last March 10, before another extension was requested.
The enforcement action follows a February 23 notice identifying 31 illegal stalls that lack the necessary Mayor’s Permit and occupy public sidewalk space.
The vendors were originally given temporary permission for the 2025 Christmas season, but the market continued to operate in violation of the Bacolod City Revised Local Revenue Code.
The CLO Enforcement Team expects all illegal structures to be cleared by the new deadline to avoid forced demolition and ensure compliance with city ordinances.*
