Performing Group No. 5 composed of Barangays Taloc, Abuanan, Atipuluan and Dulao, was declared champion for this year’s Babaylan Festival Dance stage competition that was part of Bago City’s 57th Charter Anniversary.
The group bested five other competing groups in the contest held at Manuel Y. Torres Memorial Coliseum and Cultural Center Sunday, February 19.
Emerging as first runner-up was Group No. 6, composed of Barangays Lag-asan, Bacong, Pacol and Tabunan. The team also got the Best in Binalaybay award.
Second runner-up was Group No. 2, composed of Barangays Don Jorge Araneta, Alianza, Caridad and Malingin, while Group No. 4, composed of Barangays Balingasag, Sampinit, Busay and Napoles was third runner-up.
Other competing teams were Group No. 1, composed of Barangays Ma-ao, Binubuhan, Ilijan and Mailum; and Group No. 3 consisted of Barangays Calumangan, Poblacion, Sagasa and Bagroy.*
