
Bacolod Arts, Cultural and Heritage Inc. (BACHI) celebrated National Arts Month by joining the solo exhibit “For the Love of” by New York painter and printmaker Charles Lahti at the Negros Museum. The organization engaged in an Art Appreciation Activity that underscored the deeper role of art in shaping identity and collective memory.
During the exhibition’s opening, BACHI members immersed themselves in conversations with Lahti, gaining insights into the traditions, values and histories that inform his diverse cultural background. The exchange highlighted how art serves as a bridge across cultures, fostering empathy, dialogue and personal growth.
“Art deepens our appreciation of cultural heritage and social values. It is vital to explore and honor another culture through its arts, as this strengthens our shared humanity,” BACHI president Sandy Solinap emphasized.
