The Bacolod Arts, Cultural & Heritage Inc. (BACHI), under the leadership of President Sandy Solinap, met recently at the iconic Yulo’s Park & Heritage House – one of Bacolod City’s treasured historical landmarks.

The gathering brought together BACHI’s officials: Kyle Jocson, Sally Estrella, Renchie Garcia, Ernie Claud, Ann Buerom, Shanty Toralballa, Princy Martir, and Vincent Escalona. Also in attendance were consultative bodies Gil Severino, Raymond Alunan, and Solomon Locsin, chairman of the Negros Occidental Historical Committee, Inc.

The meeting was also attended by Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr., chairman of the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) Committee on History. His presence underscored the city’s commitment to cultural preservation and historical education. Discussions centered on preparations for the upcoming “Seis de Noviembre” celebrations, commemorating the 1898 capitulation of Spanish rule in Negros.

Legislative matters under the Committee on History – including policy development, funding initiatives, and public engagement strategies – were also explored.

Councilor Gamboa was presented with a Token of Appreciation by seasoned visual artist Ernie Claud, joined by Gil Severino and Sandy Solinap.*
