Bacolod Arts, Culture & Heritage Inc. (BACHI) unveiled “Slow Fashion: The Catwalk” at the recent ANP Bulawan Trade Fair, SM Bacolod, showcasing a curated selection of wearable art, hand‑painted Filipiniana, garments, bags, crochet accessories and even creations for “furpets.”

The Catwalk reimagined the traditional runway as a living gallery, where fashion, painting and sculpture merged into a single artistic experience. Each piece celebrated artisanal craftsmanship while promoting sustainable and ethical clothing production — a true embodiment of slow fashion.

BACHI’s designers, all visual artists, cast aside convention. Instead of canvas and fabric alone, they sculpted, wove, crocheted and engineered breathtaking pieces from unconventional mediums. The showcase proved that art is not confined to walls but can be worn in everyday life — even on a casual trip to the mall.

The artists themselves took the stage with their creations: Sony Golez, Kyle Jocson, Maria Isabel, Princy Martir, Patti Bendanillo and Sandy Solinap. Adding a playful twist, feline models Kent and Oreo of Raffy Tonogbanua, and canine companions Sol and Bangs of Roslyn Ang and Dante Tan strutted the runway. Special participation came from Tin Delicano, May Tonogbanua, Puff Jocson and Elle Bendanillo.

Through “Slow Fashion: The Catwalk”, BACHI reaffirmed its mission to celebrate unique, culturally rooted craftsmanship while inspiring audiences to embrace imagination, sustainability and wearable art.*
