The Board of Directors of Bacolod City Water District (BACIWA) held a dialogue with Mayor Albee Benitez to formally discuss and present a Rainwater Catchment Facility Project on Monday at the City Mayor’s Office at the Bacolod City Government Center, a press release from Bacolod PIO said.
The Rainwater Catchment Facility Project is a project that aims to provide sustainable solutions for water scarcity, especially in severely-affected areas in Bacolod City. The project is targeted to begin during the first quarter of 2025.
After a thorough process and evaluation, the following barangays were identified to serve as recipients of the project: Tangub, Mansilingan, Sum-ag, Banago, Mandalagan, Taculing, Vista Alegre, Handumanan, Singcang-Airport, and Felisa.
The meeting was attended by Councilors Vladimir Gonzalez and Al Espino, BACIWA general manager Mona Dia Jardin, chairman Lorendo Dilag, vice chairman Lawrence Villanueva, directors Rebecca Filasol and Rich Ann Zayco, and special assistant to the Mayor Engr. Mae Cuaycong.*
