Pastor Arthur and Miriam Bayles were guests of honor at the opening of the back-to-back art exhibit of Noby Juno and Pablita “Pabs” Romorosa at the Brainy Paintworks Gallery, 18th Street-San Agustine Drive in Brgy. 5, Bacolod City, Saturday.
Titled “Art Revolution”, the show will run until June 1.
Romorosa, 11, started painting with pastel when she was just one year old and later proceeded to acrylic, her mother, Chin Romorosa, who is a conceptual artist, said.
Chin recalled that her daughter would paint alongside her whenever she starts to work on her canvas.
Pabs had held solo exhibits at the Ricorenzo Art Gallery in Bel Air, Makati, and at the Pope John Paul II Tower in Bacolod City.
Juno, on the other hand, had solo exhibits at the Rez Galvez Ads and Art Gallery, titled “Kabadu (Kahoy, Bato, Duta)” and at the Syano Artlink Gallery titled “Retaso”, both in Bacolod City.
His medium is mixed media composed of recycled materials, such as sand, wood and stone, as well as acrylic, to create monochromatic 3D collage artworks.
Juno said he also used sawdust in one of his artworks which he took from the shop of framer Teodoro Aguilar, whom he fondly called “Tatay Dos”. Using raw materials will require a small capital to create an artwork that he can sell at a very good price.*
