BacoLaodiat Festival set for kick off

The 2025 BacoLaodiat Festival will kick off at the Main Atrium of SM City Bacolod at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, after a Spring Festival Thanksgiving Mass at the Queen of Peace Parish at 8 a.m.

This will be followed by the opening of the Chinese Temple Design Contest at McDonald’s East at Megaworld’s The Upper East at 6 p.m.

Meanwhile, a Chinese New Year’s Eve celebration will be held today at the Yuan Thong Temple along Burgos Extension, from 5 p.m. to 12 midnight.

On Thursday, the conferment ceremony of Hans T. Sy as adopted son and honorary mayor of Bacolod City will be held at the Bacolod City Government Center at 2 p.m., followed by a Lunar Spectacular Show at the Main Atrium of SM City at 4 p.m.

The opening of the Emperor’s Market and Imperial Village at the North Capitol Road will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, followed by a cultural show “A Night in the Middle Kingdom” at 6 p.m., and fireworks display at 9 p.m. at the North Capitol Road

Ayala Malls Capitol Central will serve as the venue for the Snake Emperor and Empress Fantasy event at 2 p.m. on Saturday, while the BacoLaodiat Festival Street Dance Competition will be held at 4 p.m. along the 5th to 11th streets of Lacson Street.

The Lantern Dance Competition will start at 7 p.m. at the 11th Street arena, and at the 5th Street stage at 8 p.m. the announcement of the top three Lantern Dance Competition winners will be held at the North Capitol Road at 9 p.m.

A repeat performance and awarding of the Street and Lantern Dance Competition will be held at the Main Atrium of SM City Bacolod on Sunday at 3 p.m., followed by a Chinese Cosplay Invasion at the North Capitol Road at 4 p.m.*
