PCol. Joeresty Coronica returns to the Bacolod City Police Office, as head of the highly urbanized city’s police force.
Prior to his present position, Coronica, who formerly served with BCPO as among its station commanders, was the Iloilo City Police Office chief, where served for two years.
Coronica, who also served as police chief of Silay City in Negros Occidental, is the lone ICPO chief who was recognized by Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, through his issued executive order, where the former was designated as an “adopted son” of Iloilo City.
He replaces PCol. Noel Aliño, who is now assigned as regional chief of the National Capital Region Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
The designation of Coronica as BCPO chief was also confirmed by Atty. Caesar Distrito, spokesman of Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, and PLt. Col. Arnel Solis, public information officer of the Police Regional Office 6.
PCol. Kim Legada replaced Coronica as ICPO chief.
The order assigning Coronica, a native of Bacolod City, as the new BCPO head took effect yesterday.*
