Bacolod City has allocated P17,370,350 to fund the participation of the Schools Division of Bacolod City in the upcoming Palarong Pambansa 2026.
The funding is earmarked for the expenses of 286 delegates, including athletes and trainers, during the national games scheduled to be held in Agusan del Sur from May 24 to 31.
The financial support was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement city government represented by Mayor Greg Gasataya, and the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Bacolod City, represented by OIC-Schools Division Superintendent Dennis Develos.
Gasataya said each member of the delegation will receive a total of P19,000 in cash allowances.
The financial package is divided into a P9,000 training allowance, P6,000 food allowance, and P4,000 playing allowance.
Aside from cash stipends, the city government is also providing playing uniforms, shoes for specific sports, and full coverage for transportation and accommodation.
The mayor said the primary objective of this comprehensive funding is to ensure the delegation is fully equipped to compete for gold medals at the national level.
