Bacolod City Assistant City Veterinarian Dr. John Michael Cabuguason officially resigned from his post, effective October 1, as confirmed by City Administrator Atty. Mark Steven Mayo.

Mayor Greg Gasataya said that he accepted the resignation as it is a career promotion for the doctor who received an offer to be the department head of the Victorias City Veterinary Office.

Gasataya expressed gratitude for Cabuguason’s service and acknowledged the various programs he implemented in the city.

These initiatives include the “Libre Kapon Program” and intensified vaccination drives for dogs and cats.

“Those projects and programs will continue, and I already asked the City Vet head to publish the position as vacant since it is an important position that the city needed, and definitely the programs will continue,” Gasataya said.

Mayo noted that the assistant city veterinarian post is currently vacant, but the office remains under the management of CVO head Dr. Maria Agueda Dela Torre.*
