Concessionaires at this year’s Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival generated a total of P3,285,047 in sales across three designated venues, marking an increase of nearly P1 million from the P2.3 million recorded the previous year.
Bacolod City Councilor Celia Flor reported the figures, attributing the revenue growth to favorable weather conditions during the event held at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central, Megaworld The Upper East, and SM City Bacolod.
Flor contrasted this year’s conditions with the continuous rain and typhoon encountered during the previous festival, noting that the clear weather allowed concessionaires at all three venues to increase their earnings.
According to nightly sales monitoring conducted at the festival sites, 80 to 90 percent of the participating vendors focused on selling chicken inasal.
Flor clarified that the P3.2 million revenue reflects transactions made by vendors operating within the official festival grounds, rather than regular daily operations.
Following the increase in visitor numbers and sales, Flor said they are considering expansions for future iterations of the event.
Proposed adjustments include expanding the festival’s reach beyond the three venues and integrating permanent vendors from Manokan Country into the festival’s float parade to accommodate more festival-goers.*
