The General Services Office (GSO) and the Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) in Bacolod City have been assigned new department heads.
City Administrator Pacifico Maghari III yesterday said that Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez has issued two separate memoranda designating Victor Espina, GSO supply officer IV, and Sally Abelarde, DSSD assistant department head II, as officers-in-charge of the GSO and DSSD, respectively, effective Tuesday.
Espina took over the post from GSO head Gilda Lluisma, who was reassigned to head the City Population Office, while Abelarde replaced former DSSD head Pacita Tero, who retired last month.
Maghari said Espina will continue the onsite inspection and inventory of government vehicles that have not been found following the conduct of an ocular inspection on January 28, that was ordered by the mayor.
Lluisma earlier told reporters that about 90 vehicles that could not be found.
Meanwhile, Maghari said he met with Abelarde yesterday, in order to know what kind of support they could extend the office of the DSSD.
Abelarde, who has been with the DSSD for more than 43 years, said that since all their programs are in place, all they have to do is to strengthen its implementation.*
