The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod City unanimously approved a resolution congratulating the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) on the occasion of its 111th Founding Anniversary on July 27, and commending the Church for its unwavering contributions to peace, humanitarian service, community development, spiritual upliftment, and national unity.
Authored by Councilor Caesar Distrito, the resolution highlights the INC’s historic growth since its founding by Brother Felix Y. Manalo on July 27, 1914. Over the past century, the INC has expanded to over 160 countries and territories, with millions of members across the globe. The Church’s dedication to doctrinal unity and public service under the leadership of Executive Minister Brother Eduardo V. Manalo was also commended.
“The Iglesia Ni Cristo is not only a spiritual institution but a strong pillar of service, discipline, and civic responsibility,” Distrito said during the regular session.
“Its global reach and local impact—especially here in Bacolod—are deeply felt and worthy of recognition,” Distrito added.
The resolution particularly lauded the INC’s recent programs and milestones, including the “Lingap sa Mamamayan” (Aid to Humanity) initiative, offering medical, educational, and livelihood assistance; the historic National Peace Rally held on January 13, with over 1.8 million participants, including more than 70,000 in Bacolod City alone; the Church’s inclusive sports events like the Unity Games, and its commitment to accessible education and healthcare through INC TV, New Era University, and New Era General Hospital.
In Bacolod, the INC has consistently partnered with the city government on public service drives, clean-up campaigns, and interfaith initiatives—strengthening community ties and promoting social harmony.
The City Council’s resolution serves as an expression of deep appreciation for the INC’s spiritual legacy and its enduring role in building a more compassionate, peaceful, and united society.

Bacolod Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) on the celebration of its 111th Founding Anniversary on July 27, according to a press release from his office.
