Bacolod City officials led by Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, will be holding a meeting in Bangkok, Thailand to discuss the proposed P4.2 billion executive budget for 2025, as well as to perform benchmarking measures.
Benitez has designated Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran as acting Mayor of Bacolod City from August 30 to September 2 in view of the former’s travel abroad.
Familiaran’s designation as acting Mayor was contained in Memorandum Order No. 173 issued by Benitez on August 27.
Familiaran, on the other hand, designated Councilor Claudio Jesus Raymundo Puentevella as acting Vice Mayor from Aug. 30 to Sept. 2, “in view of the councilors’ personal travel abroad” and his designation by the Mayor as acting mayor of Bacolod.
Familiaran disclosed that Benitez is holding a budget hearing in Bangkok, together with the city councilors and department heads. Their travel has the approval of the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
The trip will include benchmarking for solid waste management, street food management and food safety practices, transportation, and tourism promotion, he added.*
