Bacolod City firefighters show bayanihan spirit

Bureau of Fire personnel in Bacolod City turned-over cash and food assistance to the family of a 4-year-old child who fell and drowned at the Brgy. Taculing during heavy floods on Sept. 13*

In the face of tragedy, the Bacolod City firefighters, led by FSupt. Jenny Mae Masip, Bacolod City Fire Marshal, together with Shift A personnel under the supervision of FO3 Jed Antoni Cartagena, and the 74 Class Banaag 2024-01 OJTs, have once again shown the essence of the Filipino spirit – bayanihan, a press release from the BFP Bacolod said.

Following the incident on September 13, where a 4-year-old child fell and drowned during the flooding at the Brgy. Taculing bridge, caused by the southwest monsoon rains and tropical storm Ferdie, the firefighters came together to support the grieving family.

Their collective efforts resulted in a donation of P8,791 in cash, along with bread, coffee, and noodles. This act of compassion and unity demonstrates that even in the darkest of times, the spirit of community and kindness shines brightly.*
