Bacolod City takes DOT accreditation on wheels

• CHRYSEE G. SAMILLANO

The Bacolod City DOT accreditation on wheels will be in Bacolod from September 8 to 12, as part of the 5-day Tourism Week 2025 celebration.

According to a press release, it will be conducted at the Ayala Capitol Central Activity Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Tourism accreditation is more than just a requirement, it’s your ticket to credibility, visibility, and growth. It ensures that your establishment meets quality, safety, and service standards recognized locally and internationally,” Bacolod Tourism Officer Ma. Teresa Manalili said.

In Bacolod City, City Ordinance No. 895, Series of 2019 requires all tourism-related establishments to be accredited. But we understand that the process can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially for small businesses or those new to the industry, she said.

That’s why the Bacolod City Tourism Development Office, in partnership with the Department of Tourism Region VI, is bringing Accreditation on Wheels (AOW) straight to you, Manalili said.

“Whether you’re an accommodation establishment, tour operator, travel agency, restaurant, or any tourism-related business, this is your chance to get accredited quickly, conveniently, and with professional help,” she said.

Meanwhile, Bacolod City celebrates Tourism Week 2025 with the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation” from September 8  to 12, highlighting sustainable tourism initiatives, exciting competitions, cultural showcases, and community-driven activities that reflect Bacolod’s identity as the City of Smiles and a destination for responsible travel.

The event will be held at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central, and Megaworld’s Upper East.*
