BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The “Capitol Cab” shared services of the provincial government of Negros Occidental is up for adoption by the Bacolod City government, disclosed Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez yesterday.

The Capitol Cab service, a best practice of the provincial government of Negros Occidental, is a ride hailing service for its Capitol employees. A digital booking application was created by its Information Technology Division to handle all travel demands of Capitol employees on official business.

Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, provincial administrator, who is among the three Capitol executives whose pro bono services were recently tapped by Mayor Benitez, was the proponent of the Capitol Cab program.

Benitez disclosed that the city government has 65 motor vehicles.

Instead of assigning a specific vehicle to a certain department, which cannot be used 24/7, it could also be used by other departments, he added.

We are now coming up a system where every department can have access to the vehicles and equipment, Benitez said.*
