A traffic panel control box located at the intersection of Lopez Jaena and Burgos streets in Bacolod City, has been reported stolen by the Bacolod Traffic and Management and Development (BTTMD) office.
According to Police Station 4, a traffic technician from BTTMD office reported the theft.
The report states that the control panel was stolen around 2 a.m. on Sunday, September 7.
“Our personnel have already endorsed the case to the City Legal Office for proper action,” Atty. Reuben Mikhail Sabig said, head of the Bacolod Traffic Authority.
The technician informed authorities that they already “exerted effort to locate the said control panel but still no avail.”
A traffic control panel box holds the electronic components that manage the traffic lights. Its components regulate the flow of cars and pedestrians at intersections, helping to keep traffic moving smoothly.
Sabig explained that they endorsed the incident to the CLO as it is listed in the inventory of the city government’s property.*
