A clearing operation will be conducted by the Bacolod City Legal Office (CLO) Enforcement team, targeting sidewalk and flower vendors on both sides of the city’s Rizal Street, at barangays 10 and 12.
According to Levy Pangue, focal person of the enforcement team, the office already issued notice to the barangay captain to inform them that there will be a clearing operation.
“We have a calendar of activities for the month of September, our schedule today is Rizal Street, but unfortunately, the weather condition is not good so we hold for a while,” Pangue said.
He stated that the vendors have already received notices since last month.
Pangue added that selling on the sidewalk is prohibited as it is supposed to be designated for pedestrian use.
The office said that the thrift stores and other shops in the area that are encroaching on the sidewalks will also be cleared.*
