A man classified as a high-value individual in the local drug trade was arrested during a buy-bust operation that yielded an estimated P680,000 worth of suspected shabu early Friday morning in Barangay 8, Bacolod City.
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) identified the suspect as alias “Luis,” 33, single, and a resident of Barangay Singcang-Airport.
The operation was conducted by operatives from Police Station 2 at approximately 12:32 a.m. on October 10 along Gatuslao Street.
Authorities confiscated around 100 grams of the substance believed to be shabu from the suspect during the sting.
The suspect is now under the custody of Police Station 2 and is set to face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
He will be charged under Section 5 for the sale of dangerous drugs and Section 11 for the possession of dangerous drugs.
The BCPO stated that the successful operation is part of its unwavering commitment to its intensified campaign against illegal drugs to safeguard the community.*
