In separate buy-bust operations on July 22 and 23, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) said two women were arrested in the barangays of Mansilingan and Punta Taytay.

Police arrested a 34-year-old elementary school job order employee in a buy-bust operation at around 2:06 a.m. on July 23 in Purok Masinulondon, Brgy. Punta Taytay.

BCPO identified the suspect as alias ‘Tisha’, a resident of the barangay, whose illegal activities as drug pusher were monitored by the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

According to the City Drug Enforcement Unit, 11 sachets totaling approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu, with a value of P340,000 at the standard drug price, were confiscated, including the buy-bust item.

Meanwhile, in a joint operation of the Bacolod City Police Station 7 and the Regional Intelligence Unit – Negros Island Region (NIR), a suspect identified as alias ‘Shery’ was apprehended at 1:18 p.m. on July 22 at Purok Kabugwason, Brgy. Mansilingan.

She was nabbed in possession of approximately 30 grams of suspected shabu valued at P204,000.

“This latest accomplishment demonstrates the strengthened collaboration between local and regional law enforcement units in addressing the drug menace in the city,” BCPO – Public Information Office said in a statement.

Both alias ‘Tisha’ and ‘Shery’ are now facing charges for the violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“The Bacolod City Police Office continues to intensify its anti-illegal drugs campaign in support of the Philippine National Police’s overarching mission to ensure safer communities,” BCPO added.

Police said in a statement that they continue to strengthen their anti-illegal drugs operations in line with the intensified campaign of the Police Regional Office – NIR to maintain peace and order in the region.*
