Personnel of the Bacolod City Police Station 6 recovered a .38 caliber revolver and two rounds of live ammunition during a search warrant operation at the residence of an ex-convict in Purok Mabinoligon, Barangay 30, on Sunday.
The operation targeted 37-year-old alias ‘Fritz, a resident of the area with a prior criminal record involving illegal gambling and illegal drugs.
While the firearm was seized in the presence of the suspect’s sibling and other witnesses, the suspect remains at large as he was not home during the raid.
Bacolod Police Station 6 reported that the search warrant was issued following numerous complaints from residents.
The suspect had allegedly been seen threatening neighbors and firing his weapon indiscriminately in the community.
Authorities are currently investigating the source of the confiscated firearm.
Although the suspect evaded arrest, police are preparing to file charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Authorities have issued a public call for the suspect to surrender to authorities and face the allegations filed against him.*
