A jobless man considered a high-value individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade was arrested in a buy-bust operation of the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), which led to the seizure of a P476,000 worth of suspected shabu early Tuesday morning.
The operation, carried out at 12:10 a.m. at Purok Sto. Rosario, Barangay Bata, resulted in the apprehension of 33-year-old alias ‘Doydoy’, a resident of the area.
Alias ‘Doydoy’, is a high-value target for the Bacolod City Police Office, was nabbed in possession of approximately 70 grams of a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, valued at P6,800 per gram.
The police recovered a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing the suspected shabu from the buy-bust transaction, along with three other heat-sealed sachets, and one knot-tied plastic bag, all containing the same substance.
A one-thousand-peso bill used as the marked money was also confiscated.
Agapay is now facing charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. He is currently in police custody, awaiting the filing of formal charges.*
