Policemen seized on Wednesday night about P5 million worth of suspected shabu from two arrested drug suspects at Purok Mars in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.
PMaj. Eugene Tolentino, Police Station 8 commander, said the buy bust operation led to the arrest of George Jayme, 49, of Murcia town, and Dharryl Escanuela, 49, of Olongapo City, Zambales province.
Tolentino said the apprehension of Jayme, who they classified as a High Value Individual drug personality and Escanuela, yielded an estimated 775 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P5,134,000.
Both are now detained at the Police Station 8 custodial facility.
On July 2, the police also recovered 20 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P136,000, from two arrested drug suspects identified as Alvie Taco and Joseph Sapu-an, in a buy bust operation in Brgy. Tan-awan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
That buy bust operation led to the injury on the right arm of PPSg Iric Montoyo, according to the police.
Also recovered during the buy bust operation were a caliber .45 Glock pistol and a caliber .22 revolver, both with ammunition, and a fired cartridge of caliber .45 pistol.
Four other drug suspects were also apprehended by the police in series of buy bust operations on July 3 in the cities of Sagay, La Carlota and Kabankalan, as well as Pontevedra, that resulted in the confiscation of more than 10 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P70,000.*
