Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya has announced that over 1,000 personnel of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will each receive a P2,000 monthly allowance, a press release from the Bacolod City Communications Office said
The benefit forms part of the city government’s ongoing commitment to recognize and support all uniformed personnel in the area, including members of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
“You all carry the weight of our safety, for which we are deeply thankful,” the mayor emphasized.
The new allowance takes effect this year and applies to all eligible uniformed personnel across the three agencies.
It comes on top of the city government’s annual P20.5 million allocation to fund BCPO’s peace and order programs and initiatives. Part of this financial assistance also goes towards improving police mobility, supporting anti-criminality operations, and strengthening crime-solving efforts in Bacolod.
BCPO Director Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica praised the local government’s move, saying, “This is a big boost that could raise the morale and welfare of our policemen.”
He added, “This has helped a lot in our operations—from repair and maintenance to other logistical support necessary for police functions.”*
