A resolution congratulating and commending Juancho Michael Jamon for winning bronze in the Asian Open Schools Invitational (AOSI) Swimming Championship in Bangkok, Thailand on August 17 to 18, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Wednesday.
The resolution authored by Councilor Em Ang said the Sangguniang Panlungsod has always been recognizing outstanding Bacolodnons in the field of sports.
The Asian Open Schools Invitational Swimming Championship in Bangkok, Thailand was participated in by over 600 swimmers from 14 Asian countries, it said.
Juancho Mikhael Jamon, 8, a Grade 3 student at the University of St. La Salle Bacolod, won bronze in Event 238, Heat # 2 in the age group of 6, 7 and 8 years old. He has also competed and won awards in swimming competitions held locally and abroad, the resolution said.
Juancho is the son of former SK Federation president and councilor Christine Angelic Matus Espinosa. He is a resident of Brgy. 38, Bacolod City, it said.
The achievement of Juancho is an inspiration to other young and aspiring athletes of Bacolod City. The people of Bacolod joins Juancho and his family in celebrating his achievement, the resolution added.*
