Bacolod Day shines at 39th Negros Trade Fair

Bacolod City took the spotlight on Saturday at the 39th Negros Trade Fair in SMX Convention Center Aura, SM Aura Premier, with a remarkable celebration of culture, artistry and pride under the leadership of Mayor Greg Gasataya, a press release from the Bacolod City Tourism Office said.

The event, spearheaded by the City Government of Bacolod through the Bacolod City Tourism Development Office, showcased the creativity and spirit of the “City of Smiles” before a packed audience, affirming Bacolod’s growing reputation as a hub for festivals, fashion and culture.

Gasataya, together with first lady Maita Gasataya, personally led the city’s delegation, welcoming guests and dignitaries to the celebration. He was joined by national leaders and distinguished personalities, including Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, Assistant Secretary Judilyn Quiachon, Cebu Fifth District Representative Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco, DOT Region VI Director Crisanta Marlene P. Rodriguez, Bacolod Lone District Representative Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez, Vice Mayor Claudio Jesus Raymundo Puentevella, Bacolod City Councilors.

Also present were Association of Negros Producers (ANP) president Christina Gaston, chairwoman Arlene Infante, and 39th Negros Trade Fair chairperson Mary Ann Colmenares, NAITAS National president Florence Rivera, NAITAS National Trustee Cashmere Tablang, as well as Bacolod executive assistants and department heads.

One of the highlights of the day was “Pagrampa: MassKaraRampa,” a stunning fashion show featuring Bacolodnon designers who captivated audiences with collections that fused modern style with local identity. The program was further enlivened by MassKara dancers who brought the city’s festivals to life with vibrant performances representing the MassKara Festival, Bacolodiat, Chicken Inasal Festival, and Rum Festival.

The celebration was made possible through the efforts of the Bacolod City Tourism Development Office, headed by Chief Tourism Operations Officer Ma. Teresa Manalili with Tourism Officers Darlwin Sales, Meneil Lopez-Poquiz, and Liana Reynes. Bacolod products were also highlighted through the City Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office (CCLDO), providing opportunities for local enterprises to reach a wider market.*
