Bacolod dengue deaths up to eight

A 31-year-old male from Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City recently succumbed to dengue, bringing the total number of dengue-related deaths to eight.

The total reported dengue cases in Bacolod City as of July was 443, which is 216.4 percent higher than the number of cases covering the same period last year which was 140 with two deaths.

Previously reported dengue deaths were from Singcang, Pahanocoy, Sum-ag, Tangub and Granada with one case each, and Mansilingan with 2.

The barangays with the highest number of cases are Mansilingan – 45, Tangub and Estefania – 35 each, Taculing – 33, Singcang – 31, Alijis – 28, Sum-ag and Villamonte – 27 each, Mandalagan – 25, Handumanan and Cabug – 19 each, Granada – 17, and Felisa, Banago and Bata with 11 each.*
