The Bacolod City government released a total of P62 million in Emergency Cash Transfers (ECT), as of Monday, to families whose houses were damaged by Typhoon Tino.
This confirmation comes from Dr. Richelle Verdeprado-Mangga, the head of the Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD).
According to DSSD records, the total number of beneficiaries who have already received the ECT assistance stands at 9,022 out of 18,253 target recipients.
For those whose homes were severely affected, 2,739 families have received P10,325.
Meanwhile, 6,283 families categorized as slightly affected have received P5,369 in assistance.
The first batch of cash payouts will continue until Friday this week, which is also the final deadline for claiming assistance.
Mangga added that residents can collect their cash aid from two designated venues: Bacolod City College and the Villamonte gym.
Mayor Greg Gasataya reported that the primary issue raised by residents was the exclusion of their names from the beneficiary list.
Gasataya said that they refer the residents with concerns to go directly with their respective barangays.
A total of P14.9 million ECT was allotted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development to Bacolod City.*
