In a continued effort to support partner agencies and enhance public service delivery, Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya, together with OIC- Bacolod Environmental and Natural Resources Office (BENRO), Allyn Luv Dignadice, and the Local Government Unit (LGU), officially turned over essential Information and Communications Technology (ICT) equipment to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) of the Negros Island Region (NIR) at the City Mayor’s Office on March 30, a press release from the Bacolod City Communications Office said.
The donation, comprising one laptop, one complete desktop computer set, and one printer, was formally received by DENR-EMB officer-in-charge and NIR Regional Director, Forester Vicente Losbañes, alongside his team. This initiative directly addresses the bureau’s need for technological upgrades. Prior to the turnover, the regional office encountered significant difficulties in maintaining operational efficiency and staying up to date with administrative tasks due to an acute shortage of modern equipment.
Expressing his gratitude for the much-needed upgrade, Losbañes highlighted the impact the new equipment will have on their daily operations.
“I want to personally thank Mayor Greg Gasataya and the entire Bacolod City LGU for the donation of these ICT units to the Environmental Management Bureau of the Negros Island Region,” stated Losbañes. “This is a huge help to our future operations, as we currently lack the necessary equipment due to tight budget constraints. We look forward to continued support and stronger collaborations with the LGU moving forward.”
The turnover of these vital resources highlights the Gasataya administration’s proactive commitment to bridging operational gaps within vital government sectors. By empowering the DENR-EMB NIR with modern technological tools, the Bacolod City LGU aims to ensure that the bureau can more effectively fulfill its mandate of protecting and managing the region’s environment.*
