Five individuals were arrested and a drug den was dismantled following a buy-bust operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Island Region on Thursday evening.
The sting operation was conducted by operatives from the PDEA Regional Special Enforcement Team in Purok Tahong, Barangay 2, Bacolod City at around 5:57 p.m.
The drug bust led to the arrest of the following suspects: alias ‘Celber,’ 43, and alias ‘Peter,’ 43, both residents of Purok Tahong, Brgy. 2, Bacolod City; alias ‘Christian,’ 25, of Brgy. Bata, Bacolod City; alias ‘Felix,’ 25, of Brgy. Inapoy, Kabankalan City; and alias ‘Edmer,’ 30, of Brgy. 5, Silay City.
Authorities seized sixteen sachets of suspected shabu, totaling more or less 16 grams, along with the buy-bust money.
The confiscated items included seven improvised glass tooters with traces of shabu, five disposable lighters, one cellphone, cash believed to be proceeds of illegal drugs, three pairs of scissors, and a coin purse.
The joint operation was in coordination with PDEA Negros Occidental Provincial Office, Special Operations Unit of the Negros Island Region PNP Drug Enforcement Group, Coast Guard Intelligence Unit Southern Negros Occidental, and Bacolod Police Station 2.
The arrested individuals are facing charges for violations of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, and 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
