The Drug Enforcement Team of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Station 8 had a haul of a total of P1,870,000 worth of suspected shabu following a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tangub on Saturday, January 17.
The operation, which took place at approximately 8:27 p.m. at Purok Crossing 8, Old Runway, resulted in the apprehension of two residents identified as alias ‘Jeffrey,’ 38, and alias ‘Fernando,’ 39.
Authorities discovered several sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with a total estimated weight of 275 grams.
The suspects, both residents of Barangay Tangub, are currently held under police custody for proper disposition.
They are set to face formal charges for Violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In a statement, BCPO remains steadfast in its campaign against illegal drug personalities in the city, noting that the seizure of such a significant volume of narcotics prevents the further spread of illegal substances within the local community.
The evidence has been marked and submitted for laboratory examination as the case prepares for filing in court.*
