Preparations are now in full swing for the upcoming Bacolod Christmas Festival of Lights 2025 as the City Government of Bacolod, under the leadership of Mayor Greg G. Gasataya, through the City Tourism Development Office (CTDO), convened an inter-agency coordination meeting on November 27, at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC).
According to a press release, the meeting was presided by Councilor Jason Villarosa, chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Tourism, together with Chief Tourism Operations Officer Ma. Teresa Manalili and Tourism Operations Officer Meneil Lopez-Poquiz. The activity was held in partnership with STI–West Negros University, organizer of this year’s student-led parade.
Representatives from key offices – including CMO, PIO, BTTMD, BCPO, POSO, DRRMO, BENRO, DepEd-Bacolod, the City Engineer’s Office, the Office of the Building Administrator, and The Upper East by Megaworld- participated in the discussions to ensure a safe, coordinated, and festive celebration.
The meeting focused on traffic management and rerouting along the parade route; road closures and advisory dissemination; security deployment and crowd safety, particularly for students and performers; stage, sound, and lighting arrangements for the main program; emergency response protocols and disaster preparedness; and overall event coordination among partner agencies.
This year’s Christmas Festival of Lights, themed “Christmas for Kids,” will be held on December 13. The festive parade will begin at The Upper East by Megaworld and culminate at the Bacolod City Government Center Grounds, where the main program will take place.
The parade and the BCGC grounds are expected to come alive with colorful lanterns, themed floats, giant puppets and vibrant holiday light installations, making it one of the most awaited Christmas traditions in the city.*
