About a hundred vendors in Bacolod City have started to apply for special permits to sell flowers, candles, and other goods, in relation to the observance of Undas from October 29 to November 2, City Administrator Pacifico Maghari lll said yesterday.
Maghari said almost the same number of vendors as last year have applied for special permits amounting to P400. They will be allocated an area measuring one meter by one meter.
Based on the resolution of the Local Market Committee, the areas where they are allowed to sell are along Gonzaga and San Juan streets at the Bacolod City Public Plaza; areas at Libertad Street along Hernaez and Mabini streets (across Jollibee); Burgos Market along Burgos Street; and the road along the Burgos Public Cemetery, he said.
Maghari said personnel of the City Legal Office, City Health Office, and Public Order and Safety Office will be monitoring the areas designated for the vendors to ensure that they have special permits and do not go beyond the space allotted.*
