Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez issued Executive Order No. 062, series of 2023, or An Order Reconstituting the Joint Inspection Team (JIT) of the City of Bacolod.

The order said “the upscaling of reforms in processing business permits and licenses in the City of Bacolod will ensure that the delivery of frontline services to our constituents are delivered in a timely and responsive manner.”

There is a need to reorganize a composite team known as Joint Inspection Team to ensure that the national Business Permit and Licenses System standards are met by the local government, it said.

The Joint Inspection Team (JIT) of Bacolod City will be composed of Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez as chairperson, the City Administrator as vice-chairperson; and members composed of the office or division head and a regular staff of the following offices/departments: Business Permits and Licensing Division, Office of the Building Official, City Health Office, Bacolod Fire Department, Bacolod Environment and Natural Resource Office, City Treasurer’s Office, and City Planning and Development Office.

The duties and responsibilities of the JIT include the conduct of comprehensive mapping of all businesses in the city and documentation of all procedures for effective data banking, monitor and implement adherence of business to regulatory requirements set by the city on business operations, prepare consolidated inspection reports within 24 hours after inspection, among others.*
