In a bid to enhance public transportation and promote eco-friendly travel options, the City of Bacolod, with the initiative of Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, will launch a green route dry run featuring electric jeeps (e-jeeps) starting May 15 until May 19.
The dry run will cover the Vista Alegre route, offering residents a “Libre Sakay” (free ride) experience from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. This initiative aims to address the transportation needs of residents in areas not yet included in the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP), according to a statement issued by the City Public Information Office.
The green route project is designed to improve connectivity and provide sustainable transportation solutions. The introduction of e-jeeps on this new route reflects the city’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint while ensuring that residents have access to reliable and efficient public transport.
The Barangay Vista Alegre route will start from the relocation site in Arao, turn left (Burgos Road) until Burgos-Hilado intersection, and turn left to the end point.*
