An estimated P768,810 worth of property went up in flames after seven houses were burned in a fire at Purok Kasilingan in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City.
Based on the investigation of the Bureau of Fire and Protection, four houses were destroyed by the fire, while three others were partially damaged, affecting a total of nine families.
A certain Jhamil Toga, 23, suffered burns on his left arm due to the incident, according to the BFP.
The cause and origin of the fire, which was put out by responding firefighters 30 minutes after it was reported, is yet to be established by the BFP.
On the other hand, the fire victims at Purok Planeta in Brgy, Taculing, Bacolod City, availed of financial assistance from the Bacolod City government.
Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, accompanied by Councilors Celia Flor, Em Ang, Cindy Rojas, and Lady Gles Pallen, led on Tuesday the distribution of financial assistance to the fire victims, who are now temporarily staying at the evacuation center in Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City.
On August 15, a fire destroyed three houses and partially damaged three others in Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City.
Damage to property was estimated at P24,500, with no injuries reported among the affected residents..
Owners of destroyed houses received P15,000 each, while renters and sharers got P5,000.
Benitez also gave P10,000 of his personal money to the victims.*
