Bacolod hotel sector forms alliance, elects officers

The Bacolod City Tourism Development Office, led by Chief Tourism Operations Officer Ma. Teresa Manalili, successfully facilitated the recent election of officers for the newly formed Bacolod Hotel Alliance.

The initiative marks a significant step in uniting accommodation establishments and strengthening the city’s hotel and tourism industry.

Elected president was Sherwin Lucas, Park Inn by Radisson area general manager; vice president – John Victor Go, Roy’s Hotel and Convention Center president; secretary – Catherine Gonzalez, Acacia Hotel sales manager; treasurer – Kim Joseph Guimba, Seda Capitol Central Hotel general manager.

Members of the Board are composed of: Marketing and Promotions – Allen Jimenez, Citadines Bacolod, assistant manager for Brands and Marketing; Logistics and Operations – Regina Guanco, Sugarland Hotel operations manager; and Media Relations -Teena Locsin-Javellana, L’Fisher Hotel sales and marketing manager.

“The formation of the Bacolod Hotel Alliance and the election of its officers mark a significant milestone in our mission to build a more unified and dynamic tourism sector,” said Ma. Teresa Manalili, Chief Tourism Operations Officer. “By strengthening partnerships among accommodation establishments and fostering collaboration across all sectors, we are laying the groundwork for a strong M.I.C.E Alliance that will position Bacolod as a top destination for business and leisure.”

The election served not only to formalize leadership within the sector but also to strengthen coordination among hotels in preparation for Bacolod’s expanding tourism initiatives, particularly in Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (M.I.C.E).

Next on the agenda is to convene the Mabuhay Accommodations group to foster camaraderie, collaboration, and the eventual formation of their own alliance. A similar initiative is also being planned for restaurant operators and tourist transport operators, to create a well-rounded and inclusive partnership across all tourism-related sectors.

The collective efforts support the City’s long-term vision of building a strong and cohesive M.I.C.E Alliance, positioning Bacolod as a premier destination for both business and leisure events in the Region.*
