The Bacolod City government took a step toward enhancing its investment climate by signing a Memorandum of Agreement with Sycip Gorres Velayo Inc. (SGV), a leading professional services firm, during the “Bacolod Business Talks 2025” summit on Thursday.
The partnership with SGV is set to strengthen investor confidence through the publication of “Doing Business in Bacolod,” a guide to investors, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders to the city’s business landscape.
“This project reflects our shared commitment to investment promotion and helping to foster vibrant and sustainable local economies by providing vital information on Bacolod’s attractive business opportunities, unique qualities,” SGV Deputy Managing Partner, Strategy and Transactions Leader, and Markets Leader Noel Rabaja said.
The business summit brought together top business leaders, industry partners, and the government aimed to champion the ease of doing business in the city.
Meanwhile, the Local Investment Board was also presented with Mayor Greg Gasataya as the chairman, City Administrator Atty. Mark Steven Mayo as vice chairman, and the Department of Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions (DLEDIP) as the secretariat.
Membership also includes representatives from the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Bacolod Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Association of Negros Producers, Bacolod-Negros Occidental Federation for Information and Communication Technology, Bacolod Negros Dry Goods Association, Inc., and Hotel and Restaurant Association of Negros Occidental.
“We believe that by combining technical learnings with experiential activities, we are able to aim for innovation, resilience, and future ready initiatives in a forum that supports inclusivity, economic growth, and sustainable development,” DLEDIP Head Dr. Mae Ferrer-Llamas said.
Through the Bacolod Business Talk Series, industries including the creative, BPO and digital, real estate, infrastructure, and mobility, were highlighted.*
